The Victorian government needed to raise awareness that funding for fire services would now be collected by your local council, not through your property insurance premiums. This ensured every Victorian paid their fair share toward our fire authorities. The Fire Levy Monitor was established to encourage the public to flag any insurers still charging a fire levy as part of their premiums.
